I hated the Knight Rider movie thing they did to lead up to this new show. But I usually give TV shows at least 2 watches, especially if the first watch is the pilot. This thing really really sucks. I’m not even sure where to begin, and I’m sure I missed most of what sucked since I couldn’t make myself pay enough attention.
And I must preface this with, the original Knight Rider is one of the shows I hold most dear. I used to have this yellow watch and tell people I could talk to my car Kitt outside. I was probably 5 or 6? ( I had an active imagination and still kind of do I guess. I was also convinced my backpack in like 2nd grade was a nuclear accelerator proton pack that I could use to catch ghosts. In fact, I got into a wrestling match with my friend Eric over it; he was a non-believer).
The first suck moment was when the temperature in their car started going up. As Kitt reminded them once the temperature reached 212 fahrenheit (100 celsius) they were going to die because their blood will boil. Fine fine. But then they decided and Kitt agreed that they should take off their clothes so they could stay cooler so they could sit in the leather seats in their underwear. And nobody complained really how hot it was in the car. They just took a nap.
Then there was the end. So the main guy is supposed to be like this secret agent. Except the problem is everytime a bad guy sees him they are like “hey you, michael traceur”. So this is a problem apparently for secret agents when people recognize you. So they come up with this plan. Just as this one bad lady who seems to have been good friends with Michael in the day is like hey Michael here’s what happened in your past, the FBI agent in charge pretends to shoot him dead, and fake his death on TV. Then Michael wakes up at home base and they change his name to Michael Knight, so that now he’s a completely secret agent again. :) I’ll go ahead and explain the problem with this a bit more, since the smart folks working on that show missed it themselves.
The main problem Michael and the good guys have stems from a bunch of bad guys actually knowing who this dude is and what he looks like. So now when a bad guy sees him and yells hey “its you Michael Traceur, I’m gonna get you.” Michael is going to just go “I’m not Michael Traceur I’m Michael Knight”. And the bad guy is gonna go, “Oh sorry. Thought you were this dude I know who I wanna shoot with this gun. You look just like him. Sorry bro.”
The original Michael Knight had his death faked and facial reconstruction done (because he was shot in the face) so that he could actually be an unrecognizable secret agent. Did any of you guys actually watch the original show at ALL!? Even like the pilot maybe once to see why that show kicked so much ass? Dammit. Just give up. You’re doing it wrong.
